Dairy of a desperate woman after falling in the garden I was prepared by my GP for a long recovery, several apt over the period of 2 years and no improvement. At last I was refered to This wonderful man and his fantastic team. On first meeting this gentleman {I MALEK} I felt as if I had been listened too. He assured me he would do his best to get me seen as soon as possible, true to his word I was in and waiting in the arrivals lounge, The staff there were sympathetic and reassuring, I was the last to go down and feared I might be sent home and dreading the prospect of unrelenting pain. I was eventually called and taken to theatre not a prospect I look forward to but much better than the alternative. Theatre staff were reassuring and explained the procedure throughly before I knew it I was in recovery and being encouraged to wake up I had no pain whoopee I was taken to the ward where supportive. The physio team introduced them selves the following day got me out of bed and taking the fist few tentative steps to pain free recovery. Exercises and practice, followed up the stairs down the stairs all with gentle encouragement and support, The staff on POW ward were attentive and supportive. The whole proses took 5 days to the time I was collected by my family and still NO pain. I was given all the aids I need to promote my independence I had visits at home too I cant praise Mr Malek and his team enough. After years of taking my independence and total movement for granted to being almost a recluse the future now looks brighter I am so looking forward to the rest of my life what ever it holds, at 70 I now do feel a have a future thank you all so much and if you can do the same for others GOD bless you.

My Mum saw Mr Malik on 22nd May. She suffers with anxiety but he put her at ease straight away. He explained his diagnosis and the what the next steps will be. I would recommend him as an excellent doctor.

Mr Malek is extremely friendly and confident in his ability which is very helpful if you are a bit nervous about the procedure . His confidence is well founded as he did an amazing job on me , I was walking unaided around the house after 3 weeks and outside ,with care, after 4 weeks . He rings his patients after 4 weeks to see how they are progressing which is a wonderful personal touch. I was only in the hospital for three days but he checked up on me every day. The whole experience from admission to discharge was excellent and all the staff from medical experts and carers and cleaners were outstanding. The follow up appointment letter to see Mr Malek ,seven weeks after the operation was waiting for me when I got home . Mr Malek and his team can only be described as first class for quality and care , The NHS at its best .

Mr Malek is an amazing surgeon. He explained everything and answered questions in our preop appointment and on the day of admission he reassured me as he knew I was very nervous having my total knee replacement. His personality and bedside manner is exceptional, he visited me several times on the ward after the operation. The actual wound is so neat - he doesn't use staples - which is a massive bonus. I would strongly recommend Mr Malek. I would also like to praise his fantastic team from appointment clerks, joint school, pre op clinic, ward staff and his secretary.
